Dredging and Disposal Inspection Services Dredging and the management of dredged material has been an important function of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers since its inception to maintain channels and harbors at appropriate depths for commerce and public safety. EWTS provides Corps Disposal Inspectors (CDI’s) for the New York and New England Districts. CDI’s are required personnel on site for all Corps disposal contracts. EWTS certified Corps Disposal Inspectors routinely perform the following tasks aboard tugs or hopper dredges: Oversee the correct placement of dredged material in accordance with the U.S. Army Corps project specifications, and using ADISS monitoring software and equipment. Monitoring turtles incidental takes or sightings marine mammals in placement locations. The EWTS personnel are dually certified as CDI’s and National Marine Fisheries Service Marine Endangered Species Observers which is required for many US Army Corps of Eng. contracts. The dual certification also facilitates, cost efficiency for Dredge Contractors. EWTS is providing CDI’s to various companies involved in New York District
and New England dredging projects. EWTS is also providing Sea Turtles
observers for southern districts and marine mammal observers for seismic
